Ask any strength coach, personal trainer or rehab specialist and they will tell you that trunk stability (or "core strength" as it is often called) is incredibly important. Despite this fact, trunk stability training is rarely the focus of programming and is often omitted all together. This is typically to a lack of understanding about trunk stability training in general.
In this course, attendees will dig deep into trunk stability and leave the course with the knowledge and skills to properly assess and program trunk stability training in their athletes and patients.
In this course, Dr. Ulm will cover:
-
Biomechanics and anatomy of trunk stability
-
Pathomechanics of injury to the lumbar spine
-
How to assess of trunk stability
-
Proper cuing to get athletes to stabilize properly
-
When/how to use a belt properly
-
Proper lifting mechanics of common injurious exercises
-
Of course lots and lots of "core" training exercises
