This course is designed for experienced DNS therapists who want to better integrate DNS principles into their practice. This is an advanced course. As such, basic DNS principles will be reviewed and built upon.  Petra Valouchova, Brett Winchester and Richard Ulm will all be teaching the course, so be ready to get a nice variety of application of DNS to assessment and treatment of the shoulder. 
As with all DNS classes, this course will involve a combination of lecture and hands-on workshop. ​ We will perform gait evaluation. We will practice DNS functional tests to confirm the findings in the gait evaluation. We will workshop active exercises to correct functional pathology observed in the gait evaluation to restore optimal gait.

Dr. Courtney Conley of Gait Happens will be                 giving a guest lecture at this course. 
 
Course Objective:
  • Improve attendee's acumen for gait analysis
  • Review different phases of the gait cycle
  • Review pertinent developmental kinesiology to the gait cycle
  • Provide a detailed explanation of muscle kinematics of the foot and how it related to stability, function and centration.
  • Learn to utilize gait analysis as the doorway into the overall function of the patient. Attendees of this course should expect to be able to identify proper functional tests to verify obsevational findings in the gait cycle.
  • Review postural stabilization and the roll the diaphragm and respiration play in this essential attribute of function.
  • Overview of common pathology associated with the gait cycle.
